All Three Lunch Spots Near Work Have Closed Down
The kimchi stew place that opened last year, the home-style set meal restaurant, and even the franchise snack shop all shut down. I never thought deciding what to eat at lunchtime would become such a big worry.
Eventually, I started packing a lunch. It's funny and sad that the reasons I don't want to go to work come from things like this.

LOL it's funny and sad that the reason I'm starting to hate going to work is because there's no food ㅠㅠ
Isn't that an old story? In today's office districts, delivery and lunchbox demand have already eaten up the market, so it's no wonder any new place can't last six months. It's not that the kimchi stew restaurant failed—the location economics never worked from the start. Rent keeps rising, and there's no way to make it work with an average ticket below 10,000 won; if you're running a lunch-only operation, the sales ceiling is obvious. It's a bit ironic that choosing to pack a lunchbox to save on your own meal costs hits that commercial district directly. In the end, the more people try to eat cheaply, the less room there is for places selling cheap food.
I've been packing lunches for three months for that reason too, but it doesn't suit my taste as much as I expected, so it's been tough... Especially in winter, having to reheat the rice is the most annoying part.
Do you have a source? It’s a bit odd that all three went under around the same time—we should check whether rent went up.
