I Went on a Trip and It Was Really Great

After a long time, I went to Gangneung for a one-night, two-day trip. With COVID restrictions easing, there were quite a lot of people. Still, seeing the ocean was very healing.

I took the KTX to get there. The sea was visible right from the station, which put me in a good mood. The accommodation was nice since I had booked it in advance, but I also felt like staying somewhere quiet next time.

On day two, I mainly did a café tour. I checked out a few famous spots, and they were mostly alike. Actually, the small café tucked away in a side street was better.

My travel plan was...

  • Day 1: Beach stroll, raw fish dinner
  • Day 2: Café tour, exploring alleys in the neighborhood

On the way back, I told a coworker that I'd like to go to Japan next year. I hope these kinds of small, everyday joys keep happening.

Right, alley cafes are more atmospheric. Next time you go, try walking deeper into the neighborhood.

I don't really agree that all famous cafes are the same. Each one has its own vibe, you know? Or maybe you just had bad luck, lol.
