Rewatching That Movie After 10 Years: I Was Kind of Surprised by How Different It Felt

When I was a student, I just thought it was a cool movie, but this time I kept getting stuck on why the protagonist made that choice.

I really felt the truth of the saying that your appreciation changes as you get older. Especially the ending. Before, I was like, 'Why are they like that?' but now 'They must have had no choice' is the first thing that comes to mind.

I recommend rewatching the same work. It doesn't cost anything and it's fun.

Agreed—when I rewatch something I've seen before, the ending hits completely differently lol

I really relate to this. I first watched it in high school and rewatched it in my fifth year of working, and scenes where the protagonist seemed frustrating and pathetic back then just turned into, 'Oh, if I were in that situation, I'd have done the same.' Especially the scene in the middle where he makes a choice. It makes me wonder if it's not that I've gained standards as I've gotten older, but rather that I've piled up all sorts of excuses. Anyway, rewatching the same work multiple times is genuinely great value. I have a few movies I cycle through every three years, and every time they feel new.
