How I Fixed My Sleep Pattern + Tips
I used to go to bed after 3 AM and wake up at 11 AM. I’d be so sleepy during the day that I couldn’t focus on work, and I kept repeating the vicious cycle of downing coffee after coffee.
Now I’ve brought it down to about 6 hours in bed and around 4 hours of actual sleep. The method that worked best was simple:
- Cut off YouTube 2 hours before bedtime
- Wake up at the same time every day
- Take a light walk in the evening
Just sticking to these three noticeably improved my sleep quality. Sure, the first two weeks were rough. But after just over a week, I adapted.

Yeah, I'm still only 3 hours in, and seeing this motivates me lol
I used to be a night owl, but the biggest factor was fixing my wake-up time. At first, getting up at 6 AM even on weekends felt insane, but after a few days, I naturally got sleepy in the evening and couldn't even look at my phone. Walking in the morning felt even better. After doing this for a few months, my sleep schedule naturally shifted earlier, and I ended up going to bed around 1 AM.
Well, isn't that ignoring the fact that everyone has a different sleep rhythm? Even if I follow all that, I'm wide awake at 3 AM and can't fall asleep. I think something like melatonin is more reliable.
