Where Should I Start with Coding Education for My Child?
My child is in third grade, and after watching YouTube, they started tinkering with Scratch on their own. I wonder if I should get them proper lessons, but I’m not sure what direction to take.
Sending them to an academy would cost 200,000 won a month, which is a burden, and if we do it at home, I don’t have time to supervise. Is Entry or Scratch enough, or should they move on to Python?
I’d appreciate advice from parents who have been through this.

For a third grader, Scratch and Entry are enough. Python is at an age where a single syntax error can frustrate them, so there is a high chance their interest will fade first. My child also started with Scratch in third grade and moved on to Python in fifth grade, and that was just right. If 200,000 won a month for an academy feels like a waste, use that money to buy textbooks or board games instead, and just spend 30 minutes once a week looking at what they made together—that is far more effective. Even if parents do not know how to code, simply asking, 'Why did you make it this way?' is enough to motivate them.
