Is It Worth Teaching Coding to Elementary School Kids?
My nephew is in 4th grade, and I heard they’re thinking about sending him to a coding academy these days. But honestly, in an era where AI writes all the code, I wonder if there’s any need to start by teaching syntax.
If it were training in thinking logically and breaking problems down, that might be one thing, but if it’s just block-coding play, isn’t that a waste of time?
As someone in the industry, I’m curious what direction would be best for teaching him.

When choosing an academy, don't send them somewhere whose curriculum only showcases final projects—send them somewhere with classes where the kid gets to plan things themselves.
