Took my dog to the ER after he got sick
Last night at 11, he suddenly started throwing up and having convulsions, so I rushed to a nearby 24-hour animal hospital. The two hours of waiting felt like two years.
Turns out it was acute gastroenteritis. He got IV fluids and we came home. This morning, seeing him eat normally again was such a relief. Anyone who has a pet knows that anxiety, right? Even when they're just a little sick, my stomach churns. Let's live healthy and long.

Our dog also had a sudden skin rash at dawn two months ago and we ended up in the emergency room. We waited over three hours, and during that time my imagination ran completely wild... It turned out to be an allergic reaction, but I totally relate to that anxiety. It's such a relief to see him running around normally again now. When our dogs are sick, we seem to suffer even more.
As a fellow dog owner, I totally understand that feeling. If it happens again and they vomit, one thing you can do is hold off on even water for about 6 hours and just keep an eye on them. Our vet actually recommended that for our dog, and it worked. Glad it turned out not to be anything serious.
Well, that's a bit... If there were convulsions, shouldn't something like epilepsy be suspected too? Waiting two hours seems a bit risky as well. Of course, it's good that the result turned out fine, but next time it might be better to describe the condition in more detail.

I also went to the ER when my dog had a seizure, and they treated us in less than 30 minutes. I guess priorities vary between hospitals. Anyway, seeing him get IV fluids and walk out full of energy was a real relief. Let's keep feeding him well and hope he stays healthy!!
