Thoughts After 3 Hours With a New Game
The graphics are absolutely insane, but the combat feels a bit dull. I wonder if it'll change once I get further into the story.

Just from the graphics alone, it's worth the money, I agree. But isn't the boring combat kind of a fatal flaw?
It really picks up starting from Chapter 3 of the story, but a lot of people quit while waiting for that lol. I was yawning my way through Chapter 2 too. If you can tough it out, try going all the way to the end—the late-game twist was really good.
Well, if the combat is boring, seeing the story won't change that. It's a systems problem. I did something similar—played for about 3 hours, thought "yeah, this isn't it," and refunded it, no regrets. Honestly, there are way too many new releases these days that just coast on graphics.
